About Us

Emily T. Etzkorn, MD

Dr. Etzkorn specializes and is Board Certified in Internal Medicine & Pediatrics. She graduated Cum Laude from Albany Medical College in 1994. She completed her dual residency in Internal Medicine and Pediatrics in 1998.

She has been in private practice in Amsterdam since 2001 and maintains a busy primary care practice there. She enjoys caring for the entire family. She maintains hospital privileges at St. Mary's Hospital in Amsterdam.

Lydia T. Mawad, MD

Dr. Mawad is a Board Certified Pediatrician and is a Fellow with the American Academy of Pediatrics. She graduated Cum Laude from the University of Peurto Rico and received her Medical Degree at Ponce School of Medicine in 2007. She joined Dr. Etzkorn in September, 2012.

She worked as a Clinical Assistant Professor at the University of Wisconsin and a general pediatrician at clinics in Wisconsin and New Mexico. She is very happy to be serving the patients in our community and greatly enjoys being part of the lives of children and adolescents. She lives locally with her husband and two young children.

Robert A. Freeman, MD

Dr. Freeman is Board Certified in Family Medicine. He graduated Magna Cum Laude with a degree in Exercise Science from Ithaca College before completing his Medical Degree at Upstate Medical University in Syracuse, NY in 2014. He then completed his medical residency in Family Medicine at Albany Medical Center in 2017.

Prior to joining Dr. Etzkorn's practice in 2024, Dr. Freeman worked in both primary care and urgent care settings in Albany and Glens Falls from 2017-2023. He is enthusiastic about empowering patients and families in health matters and serving the local community. He lives in Clifton Park, NY and enjoys outdoor activities with his wife and two sons.

Jessica L. Benoit, FNP-BC

Jessica L. Benoit is a Board Certified Family Nurse Practitioner. She recently graduated from Stony Brook University. She joined our practice in September 2019. Prior to joining us Jessica was a Registered Nurse fulfilling the role of Charge Nurse for 6 years prior to attending Stony Brook University. Jessica is both ACLS and BLS Certified. She lives locally with her husband and children.

Nichelle Carter, FNP

Nichelle is a Board-Certified Family Nurse Practitioner. For 16 years she has worked as a Registered Nurse in various roles. In 2014 she graduated from Walden University with an MSN in Nursing Leadership & Management and recently went onto obtain a Family Nurse Practitioner post master's degree certification from Utica University. Nichelle's most recent role prior to joining us was travel nursing. Nichelle lives locally with her husband, two sons, and two dogs. She enjoys spending time with her family and dogs.

Stephanie Rudin, FNP-BC

Stephanie is a Board-Certified Family Nurse Practitioner. She is a graduate of Russell Sage College in December 2022. Prior to joining the practice, Stephanie worked as a Registered Nurse for 10 years in the Bronx. Stephanie loves spending time with her family and dog. Stephanie looks forward to getting to know the community.

Maude Kaye, CPNP-BC

Maude is a Board-Certified Pediatric Primary Care Nurse Practitioner. She received her nurse practitioner training at Stonybrook University and graduated with an MSN in 2017. She graduated from Hartwick College in 2003 with a Bachelor's in Nursing.

Prior to joining the team, Maude worked as a nurse practitioner in Developmental Pediatrics and Primary Care. She has been an RN for over 20 years and prior to becoming a nurse practitioner worked in several nursing roles including inpatient pediatrics, Pediatric Gastroenterology, Pediatric Palliative care, case management, and pediatric long-term care. She has a special interest in helping children & teens with developmental, mental health, or chronic physical illnesses to live more "normal" and fulfilling lives. She lives in Albany with her husband, two teen daughters, and numerous pets.
